My employment history can be divided into two distinct areas: 20 years’ service in the US military and 20 years as a business professional in the security/distribution sector. As a result, I have skills and am passionate about mentoring people and businesses by providing strategies, methodologies and solutions to achieve goals no matter what obstacles they are facing.

My military service began with my enlistment in 1980 and I was subsequently sent to my first duty station in Hawaii. Initially I planned to spend only three years in the military but quickly changed my mind finding the military way of life with its structure, discipline, challenges and camaraderie was for me.

During my 20 years on active duty, I was assigned to several other Army installations: The National Training Centre, Fort Irwin, California; two tours in Germany: the first in Friedberg and the second in Baumholder; a tour in Fort Benning, Georgia and my final assignment at US Army Personnel Command in Washington DC.

I deployed to many places to include the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, training bases throughout southern Germany and locations in the continental United States.
Two major military campaigns my units were involved in were Operation Desert Storm as part of the liberation force of Kuwait and Operation Joint Endeavour as part of the implementation force for peacekeeping in Bosnia.

I achieved all ranks as an enlisted soldier within an infantry company and have been a Drill Sergeant, Senior Instructor, First Sergeant and Bradley Master Gunner qualified. I was recognized for my leadership capabilities by being inducted into the prestigious SGT Morales Club as well as receiving the Order of St Maurice. My awards include the prestigious Legion of Merit, multiple Meritorious Service awards, multiple Army Commendation medals, multiple Army Achievement medals, Good Conduct medal, Humanitarian medal, The Kuwaiti Liberation medal, Defense of Saudi Arabia medal, Expert Infantrymen’s medal, Combat Infantrymen’s badge, Army service ribbon and the NATO medal.

While on active duty I was able to complete my Bachelor in Business Management degree from National Louis University in McLean, Virginia and later, once I retired from the military, completed my Masters in Business Administration from Madison University in Shreveport Louisiana.

I ventured into the “civilian” world where my business career travel took me to places like Mexico, Canada, South Korea, Fiji, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, England and Africa. My positions within various companies were National Manager US Military Sales, Business Development Manager (BDM), National Manager NZ, Regional Sales Manager NZ and Pacific, General Manager and Vice President of Sales for the America. These positions were held in both public and private companies to include GE USA and Gallagher Group NZ. My career accomplishments are many with multi-million dollar wins, leading and developing teams, increased profits and culture improvements resulting in valuable organisations.

I am confident, passionate, empathetic, understand personal behaviors and how life’s challenges can throw things out of balance.
